On Saturday we all met at iFLY in Seattle. The kids were outfitted in flight gear, had a quick training and were ready to go.
Mark went first (with a little trepidation).
But soon enough, he was smiling.
There was a learning curve with the instructor helping them to position their bodies correctly. Our kids all kicked their legs like they were swimming the breast stroke.
Before very long though, they figured it out and were...flying.

They each had a few turns and in addition to having the exhilarating experience of soaring in a vertical wind tunnel, they had their parents and siblings and cousins and aunts and uncles and grandma all cheering for them.
They also ended up with some dazzling hairstyles.
Afterwards, we all had lunch together and watched their flights on a DVD and in every direction you looked, we were all smiling.
Which sometimes is the very best gift of all.
