Anyway.
At church when we were making plans for the camp, we cousins decided that we were going to sleep under the stars. We didn't want to sleep in a tent. We were (unfortunately) kind of bratty and convinced of our perceived superiority. We didn't need a tent like the mere mortals that weren't our cousins.
(I can't remember all of the conversation but I do think we were haughty and arrogant. This is one of the times when I wish I could go back and act nicer.)
We laid out a tarp and all our various sleeping bags and quilts (nights get cold in the high desert). All was well and we chatted giggled under the sky like cousins are apt to do.
Here's all the girl cousins except three. I'm happy to report we all turned out more or less nicer than some of our teenage antics would have predicted. |
The following is a testament to the impressive size of Sorrelly. Catherine and I slept in the backseat. Marianne and Margaret shared the front seat and Shanon slept on the floor in the front seat...I'm not sure how she fared with the pedals--to say nothing of the hump on the floor in the middle--but we all seemed to do fine.
I guess you could say Sorrelly was our benevolent protector, even to sort of undeserving self-important girls.

Who's the 3rd one missing from the photo, Thelma? Britta, Josianne, and Who? I can't think of anyone.
Your mom
Amanda. She is my cousin even though I never knew her.
