Copycat
One of the things I did because Marianne did it too was try out for school plays. Even though I was met again and again with disappointment and no part in the play over and over, I kept trying.
I really wanted to be in a school play.
(When I think about it now, it surprises me a little that I kept trying. I was pretty shy.)
Our junior high and high school were combined. Everyone 7th-12th grade could audition and be cast in the plays. I finally got a part when I was in 9th grade. I loved it. I continued to audition and was in every play up until the musical my senior year when I had the lead part.
So the point of this post isn't try try again, it's that it's OK to do something that someone else is doing.
(As long as you want it too.)
Sometimes I admire someone's clothes/hairstyle/house and think, "That's exactly what I want!"
Sometimes I admire someone's clothes/hairstyle/house and think, "That's great for you, but not me."
Both are OK.
Both are being authentic. Everyone that loves Pinterest knows the joy of finding inspiration from other people.
The really wonderful part comes in the sifting, the deciding what is Me and what is Good, But Not Me.
